Secondhand Hounds will be on-site leading up to game time at Target Field Station with adoptable dogs as well as a litter of puppies. The event, which is presented by It’s Just Lunch and Renter’s Warehouse, will also feature a kissing booth for guests to donate for a dog kiss. Dog attendees will be selected based on the availability of the foster home.

“Both It's Just Lunch and Secondhand Hounds share a passion for finding people their ideal match: whether that be with a single professional or with the perfect rescue animal,” said Sara Darling, CEO of It’s Just Lunch Midwest. "If you're looking for love, with either another person or a four-legged friend, this event is for you!"

A recent survey found that 35 percent of singles have been more attracted to someone if they have a cat or a dog, and that 66 percent of single pet-owners agree that their date “Must Love Dogs” (or cats).

“Secondhand Hounds is thrilled to partner with the Minnesota Twins, Renters Warehouse, and It’s Just Lunch for the First Annual Pet Adoption Day,” said Rachel Mairose, Executive Director of Secondhand Hounds. “It’s so great to see multiple organizations come together for a common goal! We are excited to see how many pooches can find their forever home through this partnership. Hopefully we will knock it out of the park!”

“We often talk about how one of our core values at Renters Warehouse is “serve”; and usually, that means our clients and our community, but today – we’re excited to be helping our community’s furry friends too,” said Kevin Ortner, President and CEO of Renters Warehouse.

More information about the Secondhand Hounds adoption process:

  • SHH does not allow day-of adoptions. The process begins with interested people filling out an application and then following a series of steps.
